In this experimental study the thermal conductivity of a new hybrid nanofluid formulated fromthe additionof nanoparticles of alumina (Al203) and multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in POE oil was investigated. Nanoparticles of Al203 and MWCNTs were dispersed in POE oil at the mass ratio of 50/50 with gravimetricconcentrations of 0.10 g / L, 0.25 g / L, 0.50 g / L and 1.00 g / L. The hybrid nanofluids MWCNTs-Al2O3/POEweresubjected to ultrasonic sonication processes with immersion probe and rotating magnetic stirring toimprovestability. The thermal conductivity was measured at temperatures of 20 °C to 50 °C. The thermal conductivityof thehybrid nanofluid at the concentration of 1.00 g / L was slightly higher than the base fluid (POE oil) throughout thetemperature range.
